Facebook Ads Not Charging Your Card? How to Fix Billing Issues

Facebook Ads Billing Issue

Your Facebook Ads are ready to run, but Meta won't charge your card?

This is a common billing problem, particularly when setting up a new ad account or payment method.

Before creating another ad account or changing your campaigns, try these fixes first.

1. Check Your Payment Method

Go to:

Meta Ads Manager → Billing & Payments → Payment Settings

Check that your payment method is still active and that the details are correct.

Meta currently accepts several payment methods depending on your country and ad account settings, including eligible credit/debit cards and other supported payment options.

Also check that your card:

  • hasn't expired

  • has sufficient funds

  • has the correct billing information

  • supports the transaction

  • hasn't been blocked by your bank

Sometimes the problem isn't Facebook at all — the card issuer may be declining the transaction.

2. Try Adding Another Payment Method

If your existing card keeps failing, try adding another supported payment method.

In Ads Manager, go to:

Billing & Payments → Payment Settings → Add Payment Method

Enter the new payment details and save them.

Meta notes that you need to be an administrator of the ad account to add a payment method.

3. Check Your Outstanding Balance

If Meta previously attempted to charge you and the payment failed, check your Billing & Payments section for an outstanding balance.

Resolve any failed or outstanding payment before expecting your campaigns to resume normally.

You can also check Payment Activity to review previous advertising transactions.

4. Contact Your Bank

If everything looks correct inside Ads Manager but your payment is still being declined, contact your bank or card issuer.

Ask whether they're blocking or declining the Meta advertising transaction.

This can happen even when your card has sufficient funds.

5. Check Whether Your Ad Account Uses Available Funds

Not every Meta ad account uses the same billing setup.

Some accounts use available funds, where money is added to the advertising account in advance rather than Meta automatically charging a card afterward.

If your account uses available funds, Meta says you'll need to add money using an eligible manual payment method rather than following the normal process for adding a card.

Watch the Fix

In the video above, I walk through the billing issue and the solution I used when Facebook Ads wasn't successfully charging the payment method.

Facebook Ads Billing Issue Checklist

If Facebook Ads won't charge your card, check:

1. Is the payment information correct?

2. Does the card have sufficient funds?

3. Has the card expired?

4. Is your bank declining the transaction?

5. Is there an outstanding Meta Ads balance?

6. Can you add another supported payment method?

7. Is your ad account using available funds instead?

Most importantly, don't keep changing your campaigns when the actual problem is billing.

Fix the payment issue first, then check whether your ads resume delivery.
