Facebook Ads Account Restricted? How to Request a Review & Restore It

Seeing “Advertising Access Restricted” can be stressful, especially when you have active campaigns or rely on Facebook Ads for sales.

The good news is that a restriction isn't always permanent.

If you believe Meta restricted your ad account, Page, user account or Business Account incorrectly, Meta provides a process for requesting a review.

Here's what to do.

Why Did Facebook Restrict My Ad Account?

Meta says advertising restrictions can happen for reasons including:

  • repeated or serious advertising policy violations

  • attempts to evade Meta's review or enforcement systems

  • using inauthentic accounts to run advertising

  • connections to business assets Meta considers abusive

Sometimes advertisers also believe their account has been incorrectly flagged.

Don't immediately create new accounts to try to get around the restriction. Meta specifically identifies attempts to evade its enforcement systems as a reason advertising access can be restricted.

Instead, deal with the restriction through the official review process.

Step 1: Check What Was Restricted

First, determine exactly what Meta has restricted.

Check your Account Status and Meta's Business Support Home for information about the affected account or business asset.

Look for the reason Meta provides for the restriction.

This is important because:

Rejected Ad ≠ Restricted Ad Account

One rejected advertisement doesn't necessarily mean your entire advertising account has been disabled.

Meta Ads Manager's Delivery column can also show whether an individual campaign, ad set or advertisement has an error, warning or rejection.

Step 2: Fix Any Obvious Problems

Before requesting a review, investigate what might have triggered the restriction.

Check your:

Ad creative

Is the image or video compliant?

Ad copy

Are you making claims that could violate Meta's Advertising Standards?

Landing page

Remember that Meta's review can include the destination your advertisement sends people to, not just the advertisement itself.

Business information

Make sure your account and business information are legitimate and accurate.

If there is an obvious compliance problem, address it rather than repeatedly submitting the same problematic advertisement.

Step 3: Request a Review

If you believe the restriction was incorrect, go to Business Support Home and look for the option to request a review.

Follow Meta's instructions and provide any information requested.

Keep your explanation straightforward.

Explain why you believe the restriction should be reviewed and provide accurate information if Meta asks you to verify anything.

Meta says reviews of advertising account restrictions are typically completed within about 48 hours, although some cases can take longer.

If Meta determines that the activity is acceptable under its policies, advertising access can be reinstated.

Don't Try to Bypass the Restriction

One important warning:

Don't respond to a restricted account by creating fake identities or repeatedly creating replacement business assets to circumvent Meta's decision.

That can make the situation worse.

Use Meta's official review process instead.

Learn Facebook Ads Before Spending More

Getting your account restored solves the immediate problem.

But understanding why ads get rejected, how campaigns should be structured, how tracking works and how to actually read your results can prevent a lot of expensive mistakes later.

Instead of guessing your way around Ads Manager, learn how the system works and build your campaigns properly from the beginning.
